Daniel’s cousin, Michael Musto, just opened a steakhouse in Fairfield, Connecticut. Michael Gennaro’s Steakhouse sits at 268 Post Road. Daniel’s dad attended the tasting and claims that the filet mignon is among the best he has ever eaten. Find out more HERE.

Wine tasting at Ugo Wine Bar in Culver City with Emily and Joe.
You fill up a card with some cash and each wine tasting deducts from it. Always a good laugh.
Jamba Juice can get expensive while the McDonald’s smoothies can be fattening. The cure for this is to get the McDonald’s smoothie with no yogurt.

My friend, Justin, gave me this delectable snack for my birthday. From a brand only available in Chicago, Garrett brings you a combo of cheese popcorn and caramel corn in the same bag. Yes please.
Since childhood, my favorite ice cream was Haagen Dazs vanilla.
It now comes in a close 2nd to Amy’s mexican vanilla ice cream in Austin.
My favorite vegetarian egg sandwich to make at home: Trader Joe’s pretzel roll, Swiss cheese, Morningstar vegetarian sausage, egg cooked over medium. All melted together in the toaster oven.
These, my friends, are my favorite cheese fries EVER. DISCO FRIES. Dancing is optional. You can find the best ones at a restaurant/bar called The Diner in Meatpacking District in NYC. They are smothered in a few different cheeses and a creamy cheese sauce. Each fry is slightly battered and perfectly salted. On the side is ketchup, cheese sauce, and gravy. (I don’t use the gravy, but I recommend you try it.)
In New York City, Trader Joe’s grocery stores do not carry wine. They have separate wine stores. The line is out the door, but moves surpassingly fast. I was told by an insider that they only allow the city to have a couple of these shops so they don’t steal away sales from the “mom and pop” liquor stores.
The chefs at the house prepared eggs with mexican cheese and avocado, the best wheat nutty toast ever, turkey bacon, sliced fruit, and fruit-sweetened vegetable juice. I am jealous of MYSELF.
Buddha’s Belly is my all time favorite restaurant in L.A. It IS delicious and not pretentious. My favorite menu items are the Seaweed Salad which includes wakame and hijiki seaweeds, the Albacore and Avocado Spring Roll, and the Ahi Tuna Burger with sweet potato fries (be sure to get a side of the brown sauce). The Thai Tea is a sweet treat to start your meal or as dessert. With a location in West Hollywood and Santa Monica, you can’t miss out.
Stop in The Cheese Store of Beverly Hills for a taste of Little Italy. One of the biggest things I miss about the east coast as a child is access to the freshest Italian cheeses. When you stop by, ask Dominick to try some samples of sharp provolone! The home made salted spaghetti is a DREAM!
Brooklyn Water Bagel Co. on South Beverly Drive isn’t my favorite because of their bagels, it is their iced coffee. The ice cubes are made of COFFEE. No need to drink quickly to avoid watering down your coffee.
Another favorite midday snack are the yam wedges at Cabbage Patch on South Beverly Drive. They are served with a harissa ketchup and are the perfect mix of crunchy and soft.
This gift came from Sabrina for Christmas. It is called TopChips. I had some fun with this baby last night! I made potato chips, with no oil, and just a microwave. I dare you to try it.
My favorite items at L.A.’s boutique health food store, Erewhon, are broad on the spectrum of DELICIOUS. GT’s Kombucha will always be my favorite item, especially since GT is a friend and one of the nicest guys you will ever meet. Cacao Nibs are an awesome snack, especially for a road trip to Vegas when the temptation to hit the In N Out drive-thru is strong every 50 miles. Ponzu sauce is my favorite when I eat sushi at home. I usually toss the packet of classic soy sauce in the trash and pour myself a ramekin of Ponzu. Smart dogs are an awesome alternative to hot dogs, especially when you lightly brown them on the frying pan. I love using creamy butternut squash soup as a pasta sauce alternative, especially in the winter. Quorn vegetarian Chik’n nuggets taste like Burger King chicken tenders, which is a great taste-memory from my childhood. Naked Coconut flavor by Coconut Bliss is an amazing ice cream alternative if you are lactose intolerant. Last but not least is Kale. I use it to make Kale chips. The process is easy to google, except that I usually add a small amount of Rosemary Seasoning before baking. www.erewhonmarket.com
