Orchids and Coke

With a vintage Coca-Cola shipping crate from the Rose Bowl flea market, I added orchids and moss to create this gift for one of my amazing best friends, Emily.

Suited Cinema

In Soho, a storefront displayed a vintage film projected onto a handful of mannequins dressed in all white.

COW FACE

Anyone else see a cow’s face in this tile?

LEG LAMP

Found this leg lamp at Goodwill on La Brea. Did I buy it? No. Did I want to? Yes. (The hoarder in me.)

PALACE COSTUME

This is the stairwell in the children’s section of Palace Costume in West Hollywood. The life-size paper dolls in the mod printed dresses on the left make me happy.

CABO: THE DAILY GRIND

OWL TWINS

The newest addition to my bedroom is a gift from Erin. This money tree came with a message explaining how to get the most of of it with Feng Shui. As instructed, I placed it in the back left corner of the room. Mo’ Money Trees, Mo’ Problems. On a side note, I found my owl twins at Ross. Jealous?

MONA LISA

I acquired a Mona Lisa replica a few years ago. The thing bored me, so I got out some black glossy paint and Andy Warhol’d it.

It took a lot of dish soap to get the black paint off my lips.

ATOM WILLIS: AUSTIN, TX

While in Austin, I supported a friend of mine, Adam Mattingly, at his premiere event for his new leather jacket collection. He transformed a bar into a retro wonderland. The event coincided with the Austin Film Festival and was a huge hit.

NICE RACK

After a long trip to Home Depot with Sjobeck Malibu designer and co-owner, Jesse Ray, and east coast sales rep, Kevin, we built a copper piping clothing rack for their display in Fred Segal Santa Monica. The yummiest cashmere on the market.

INNER COLLEGE STUDENT

My inner college student is obsessed with this skateboard table. Looks simple enough to make… if you’re handy.

TUBEROSE FOR LIFE

Lighting a Dyptique Tubereuse candle, day or night, helps achieve Zen at home or in the office. Emily Shagley says, “Whether I am paying bills, working, talking to my family on FaceTime, or reading a book, the scent is intoxicating and fills my home without being overpowering. The scent instantly calms and relaxes my guests when they visit. The effects of the candle override the price. The photo was taken from Emily’s home office, a place of escape while creating projects together.
